Dual camera, unsurpassed images

DJI Air 3S is equipped with a dual-camera system, consisting of a 1″ CMOS main camera and a 1/1.3″ CMOS medium telephoto camera. The main camera features a larger CMOS sensor and a 24 mm lens, making it ideal for capturing razor-sharp landscapes with a wider field of view. The 70 mm telephoto lens is perfect for capturing portraits and vehicle shots, as it compresses the depth of field and outlines subjects in greater detail and clarity.

Main camera with 1″ CMOS: spectacular details for travel photography

The DJI Air 3S's main camera features a 1-inch 50MP CMOS sensor that can record 4K/60fps HDR and 4K/120fps video [6], and supports 10-bit D-Log M color. The large sensor, optimized by advanced image processing technology and intelligent algorithms, preserves the smallest details even in low-light conditions, such as at dusk and when shooting at night, providing easy-to-take shots that will simply take your breath away.

4K/60fps HDR Video
The latest HDR video mode that delivers up to 14 stops of dynamic range,[1] capturing stunning images of high-contrast scenes, such as cloudy skies or other elements at sunrise and sunset.

4K/120fps video [6]
Optimized resolution and frame rate add a vibrant perspective to sporting events, and open up a world of exciting creative possibilities in post-production.

10-bit D-Log M and HLG video
Even in normal color mode, the Air 3S can record 10-bit video using the H.265 codec, delivering excellent color performance and flexibility in post-production, with the maximum ISO increased to 12,800. In D-Log M and HLG color modes, the maximum ISO increases to 3,200, bringing greater brightness and detail to urban night scenes.

Medium Telephoto: Unforgettable Portraits

The medium telephoto camera, with a 1/1.3″ 48MP CMOS sensor, supports the same video specifications and color modes as the main camera. This ensures visually accurate footage for easier post-production work. The 70mm lens boasts 3x optical zoom, allowing you to capture unique images from a distance while keeping your subject always in focus. Additionally, Air 3S can hover around your subject and record in 4K, capturing close-ups for expressive, detailed portraits.

4K/60fps HDR Video
Capturing close-ups of sunset, the medium telephoto lens offers 14 stops of dynamic range [1] to sharply capture the rich, vibrant colours of the sun in the late hours of the day.

4K/120fps video [6]
The medium telephoto lens can record high-resolution 4K/120fps slow-motion video, highlighting your skills in every move.

10-bit D-Log M and HLG video
The Air 3S’s mid-telephoto lens also supports 10-bit video recording in normal mode, with the H.265 codec, providing excellent color performance and greater flexibility in post-production. With 10-bit D-Log M mode activated, the camera captures more detailed colors and beautifully renders vibrant city lights even at night.

Free panoramas

Both the main camera and the medium telephoto lens of DJI Air 3S feature Free Panorama mode, letting you create perfect panoramas by stitching together multiple images of a manually selected scene. The wide-angle camera offers a wider FOV, allowing you to capture flawless panoramic photos. The medium telephoto lens significantly reduces image distortion, transforming your masterpieces into shots with a wider perspective that not only accommodates more photos, but also richer details, taking advantage of the longer focal length.

Compared to its predecessor, DJI Air 3, DJI Air 3S uses a more advanced compression algorithm for video encoding, capable of reducing image file sizes by more than 30% without compromising quality, allowing creators to save precious storage space.

DJI Air 3S also supports popular features like 2.7K vertical shooting, MasterShots, QuickShots, Hyperlapse, and more, bringing a complete creative kit to a single drone.

Safer Night Flights to Expand Creativity

Omnidirectional visual detection system

The DJI Air 3S supports Advanced Pilot Assistance System (APAS). Additionally, as the first DJI drone to feature forward-facing LiDAR, the Air 3S also features a downward-facing time-of-flight (ToF) infrared sensor and six vision sensors (two forward, two backward, and two downward) to detect obstacles in all directions at night. [2] This feature allows the drone to automatically identify and avoid obstacles, such as buildings, on its flight path and return, providing significant safety for nighttime footage.

Equipped with real-time mapping and vision positioning technologies, DJI Air 3S memorizes flight paths when adequate lighting is present. This ensures a safe return upon takeoff from locations with no satellite signal. [7]

With forward-facing LiDAR and low-light vision sensors, DJI Air 3S can detect obstacles like buildings, and fly around them from above,[7] even in low-light conditions, ensuring safer returns at night.

Optimized assisted vision

DJI Air 3S’s Vision Assist system adds a downward view to the drone’s front, rear, and side views, for greater awareness of your surroundings.

DJI Air 3S features ActiveTrack 360° to keep your subject perfectly framed. The drone automatically plans a flight path based on its surroundings, adjusting the framing to ensure more effective shots and to keep your subject in the center of attention.

Compatibility with DJI Cellular Dongle 2

The DJI Cellular Dongle 2 adapter [8] can be mounted directly on DJI Air 3S, without the use of additional accessories. In case of obstruction or interference of the O4 signal, you can rely on 4G connectivity for stable video transmission and to control the drone, improving flight safety and reducing the risk of disconnection.

1. 14-stop dynamic range is available when shooting in auto mode, but not when shooting vertically or in slow motion.

Conditions to enable omnidirectional obstacle sensing in night mode: The front, back, left, right, and top of the drone are close to surfaces with a defined texture and illumination greater than 1 lux. Likewise, the ground below is discernible and has a diffuse reflectivity greater than 20% (such as walls, trees, or people), even under illumination conditions greater than 1 lux. DO NOT fly in adverse weather conditions, such as strong winds (wind speed of 12 m/s or more), snow, rain, lightning, or fog. DO NOT operate the drone at altitudes of 19,685 feet (6,000 meters) or higher. DO NOT operate the drone in environments where the temperature is below -10 °C or above 40 °C. DO NOT take off from moving objects such as cars or boats. DO NOT operate the drone near reflective surfaces, such as water or snow. Otherwise, the vision system may not function properly. The Vision System may not work properly in low light conditions. Always fly cautiously and avoid allowing the drone to enter Attitude Mode. DO NOT fly near areas subject to radio waves or electromagnetic interference. Common sources of electromagnetic and radio interference include Wi-Fi hotspots, routers, Bluetooth devices, high-voltage power lines, large-scale power transmission stations, radar stations, mobile base stations, and broadcast towers. Be careful when taking off from a desert or beach to prevent sand from entering the drone. Operate the drone in open spaces and away from crowded places. Buildings, mountains, and trees may obstruct the GNSS signal and affect the onboard compass.

If the drone takes off from a balcony, ensure that the usable space is at least 2 meters by 2 meters and that the height above the ground is less than 30 meters to ensure a safe return to the starting point. If the drone reaches its altitude limit while avoiding obstacles, it will hover in place at that height. The pilot must take manual control of the drone.

9. DJI Air 3S maintains Bluetooth connectivity for 12 hours after being turned off, allowing you to connect directly to your smartphone without having to turn the drone back on. Bluetooth automatically turns off 12 hours after the drone is turned off.
